A-C Grant Awarding Organisations

The following Anglo-Catholic organisations/charities award grants to churches, organisations or individuals for various different projects based on their constitutions and legacy restrictions.

The Church Union

Trust/Grant name: Fr Martin Trust
For the support of traditional Anglo-Catholic churches in the province of York.

Trust/Grant name: Jackson Trust
In accordance with the terms of the Will, the bequest fund is to provide grants to parishes towards repairs and improvements of church buildings.

Trust/Grant name: Oliphant Bequest Fund
In accordance with the terms of the Will, the bequest fund is to be used for training Ordinands for the Ministry of the Church of England.

Trust/Grant name: The Pollard Trust
The object of The Pollard Trust is to apply the income for relief of clergy widows and the unmarried daughters of deceased clergy, aged 50 years or over.

Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament (CBS)

The CBS constitution outlines six key ‘Objectives’ that the work of the Confraternity should promote, grants may be awarded to projects which further these aims.

The Society of the Faith (incorporated)

Trust/Grant names: Hoare Trust and Liddon Trust
The Society of The Faith carries out a range of charitable activities including providing meeting space and offices for other charities and church groups, holding an annual lecture, awarding grants for advanced theological study (Liddon Fund) and church needlework (Hoare Trust) and sponsoring books about the Christian faith.

Incorporated Trustees of the Number 1 Trust Fund

Aims: To further the teaching and practice of the Catholic faith within the Church of England.
The Trustees welcome applications from parishes and institutions for grants from the unrestricted funds of the Charity and from its restricted and designated funds. The Trustees seek to further the Objects of the Charity by making grants to Anglo-Catholic parishes and institutions. (The Trustees do not make grants to individuals.)

Additional Curates Society (ACS)

The purpose of the ACS is to ensure that the Christian Faith is proclaimed in poor and populous parishes. It does this by funding assistant priests, and encouraging vocations to the priesthood. The Additional Curates Society awards grants to poor and populous parishes, and parishes in new areas, so that they can employ a curate. A work they have been doing since 1837. The society also encourages and fosters vocations to the priesthood.

St John’s Guild

The aims of the Guild are to meet the spiritual, physical and sensory needs of people who are blind, deaf/blind or visually impaired and physically disabled people by focussing on the following areas: supporting the Guild Branches, promoting retreats, pilgrimages and holidays of varied interests and developing services where appropriate.
St John’s Guild offers grants to parishes enabling them to make worship more accessible for those with special needs with a particular emphasis upon those who are blind or visually impaired.
