Chichester Diocese 2023 Lent Course
For Chichester Diocese, 2023 is the ‘Year of the Old Testament’ and this Lent Course reflects this theme. Bishop Martin said that the Lent Course aims to help us to “pull the meaning of the Old Testament into your encounter with Jesus, sharpening your awareness of his death and resurrection at Easter, and its tremendous significance.”
Reflecting on some of the key names in the Old Testament – Eve, Melchizedek Joseph, Moses and the Queen of Sheba, a group of leading scholars reflect in each case on the connection between the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament.
For each individual or group using the Lent Course, each week there is a suggested bible reading, the reflection, some questions and a hymn to listen to or sing.
